Patio Flesh
Design of a comfortable and elegant garden chair as part of a partnership with a polyethylene recycling industry.
This company creates urban furniture from semi-finished products in the form of bars (below).
The material is very resistant, which is why it is ideal for the outdoor environment. However, it is almost impossible to craft it because it is also very compact and hard.
The design of this chair comes from a research work to find a way to produce curves with a minimum of technical means.
Principle of construction
Use of the technique of laminating woodwork, which consists of assembling pieces of wood superimposed to create a curved profile and a self-supporting structure. Each section of the chair (right and left) is composed of 2 thicknesses: an exterior and an interior.
The sleepers that serve as seating also stabilize the structure.
